Our programme is based on:

  • Belief in the recognition of the uniqueness of every child and their family, and the need for children to develop an understanding and respect for others.
  • Acknowledgement of the absolute importance of children, parents, family and staff, as partners in learning that promotes the wellbeing, education and development of all children.
  • Belief that attachment, sensitivity and interaction are fundamental in providing opportunities for children to realise their potential.

The development of their potential occurs through opportunities to:

  • Imagine and create
  • Imitate and model
  • Experiment
  • Reflect on findings and experiences
  • Achieve new skills
  • Have meaningful experiences
  • Problem solve
  • Play
  • Express ideas and thoughts
  • Give reasons and propose theories
  • Explore and discover

We believe that the teacher's role is to provide a stimulating and responsive environment where encouragement, extension, and positive reinforcement make learning possible and fun.

Our programme stems from teacher's passions and interests as well as the children's. The teachers learn where to go next by observing what the children are doing.

We acknowledge and welcome the culture and diversity of people in our community.

Our philosophy changes as practice is evaluated and new insights are gained.
